Custom Tag Studio and stable URLs

Create reusable saved configurations that survive edits.

Custom Tag Studio lets you create named, saved VAST URLs linked to one of your existing commercials, rotations, or Ad Pods.

Use descriptive names such as Tube Site 4 - Pre-roll, Roku Pilot - Sponsor A, or Sponsor Campaign - Home.

Suggested workflow

  1. Create or choose an eligible commercial, rotation, or pod.
  2. Open Developer Tools → Custom Tag Studio.
  3. Enter a saved-tag name, target, and optional attribution fields.
  4. Save and copy its unique VAST URL.
  5. Use Test to inspect the response before deploying it.

When you edit an existing saved configuration, the public URL is designed to remain stable. Pausing a saved tag prevents it from serving normally; deleting it can permanently invalidate published embeds.

Change control

Use one saved tag per clearly identifiable integration or site. Keep a deployment inventory of where each URL is installed. Before deleting a saved tag, replace it on all publishing sites.

Expert editing

The current studio provides managed parameter editing. It is not a general arbitrary VAST XML authoring engine; do not represent it as supporting arbitrary VAST 4.x XML features.
