Sequential Ad Pods

Serve two or more commercials in one VAST ad break.

An Ad Pod sends multiple VAST <Ad> elements in the same response, marked with sequence="1", sequence="2", and so forth. A player that supports VAST 3.0 Ad Pods should process them in order. Not all players implement this feature.

Build a pod

  1. Upload and activate at least two commercials.
  2. Go to Ad Pods and create a named break.
  3. Add commercials and use the up/down controls to arrange playback order.
  4. Choose fixed sequence or shuffle, as supported by your pod configuration.
  5. Copy the pod's single VAST URL into the receiving player's VAST integration.

Example

An 8-second ad followed by a 19-second ad yields 27 seconds of planned advertising if both play to completion. An early skip, playback error, or incompatible player can shorten the actual break.

Validation

MEDIARAZZI’s Testing Lab can inspect whether the XML contains multiple sequenced ads, but only an actual VAST player can confirm the full chain plays. A native <video> preview typically plays one media file and does not prove Ad Pod sequencing.

Important: An Ad Pod is not an ad schedule. It does not tell the player to interrupt content at minute 10. The player is responsible for ad-break timing.
