A player is a suitable candidate if it explicitly supports VAST 3.0 linear video and can request an HTTPS tag, retrieve MP4 media, fire tracking events, and return to its original content.
Check before launch
- Does it parse VAST XML, or only accept MP4 content URLs?
- Does it support
<InLine>ads? - Does it honor
<MediaFile type="video/mp4">? - Does it handle skipoffset, ClickThrough and event tracking?
- If using Ad Pods, does it honor
<Ad sequence="...">? - Does it support the target browser, mobile device or CTV OS?
- Does it handle empty VAST responses and HTTP/media failures?
Compatibility labels
Standards candidate means the documentation suggests the needed format. Playback tested means a real integration has actually played a test ad. Ad Pod verified means multiple ads played in sequence. These are not interchangeable labels.
